Casa Gina was built on a cliffside overlooking Acapulco Bay by Adam Gimbel, then president of Saks Fifth Avenue.

In early 1965, Casa Gina was purchased by Clint and Virginia Murchison, and remodeled and enlarged by famed international architect and designer Arturo Pani in 1966.

Casa Gina became known for the grand and lavish parties given by the Murchisons. Hundreds of people attended over the years, including movie stars such as John Wayne and sports legends such as Roger Staubach. In fact, the 1979 movie "Sunburn", starring Farrah Fawcett, Charles Grodin, Art Carney and Joan Collins, was partially filmed at Casa Gina.

Ladybird Johnson frequently stayed at the villa as well, as a guest of the Murchisons, inspiring one of the suites to even be named in her honor.

The Murchison family sold Casa Gina to its current owners in 2006, and we strive to preserve its rich heritage and beautiful accommodations to this day.

We look forward to hosting your next vacation!
